History Of...
Brief history of KML:
I was sending out demo tapes in 1983 for then KAOS to all the record labels my punk records were on. The only response I got was from a guy that blew my mind named Jello Biafra. If anyone doesn't know...he was the singer of the Dead Kennedys and owner of Faulty Products.
I met Jello shortly thereafter playing a show in New Orleans with the Butthole Surfers and DK's. He explained to me that he would rather I start my own label in the south and he would help me with distribution and general business knowledge. I'm not sure if I thought I could do it or not, but in 1984 I started putting out cassette only releases. In 1985 the first vinyl was released. The distribution and underground communications networks of the 1980's were incredible and we were proud to make Pensacola part of it!
